2025 was a BIG year at Ronald McDonald House Oregon—our largest renovation, a once-in-a-lifetime rebrand, and, above all, free Family Stays. Every moment reflected our mission: showing up for families with comfort, compassion, and care.

“This place, Ronald McDonald House, was one of the most amazing discoveries in our lives, the thought that someone would build, maintain and provide this kind of care of people in a difficult time is just unbelievable. The people here, angels each one, helped so much with getting through difficult days. No words can express our gratitude for this wonderful gift.”

“Thank you so much. You made an extremely hard time bearable and gave me the ease and strength to focus on what was important without the worry of a place to be and food to feed my family.”

Portland East House Remodel & Expansion

Since opening its doors in 1997, our Portland East Ronald McDonald House has been a sanctuary for families facing pediatric medical crises, providing warmth, comfort, and care when they need it most. But after decades of serving thousands of children and families, our East House was urgently in need of renovation.

In 2025, we completed a $2.5 million Portland East House renovation—our largest ever! The House was closed for five months, but thanks to our generous community, we added five new Respite Rooms, refreshed all guest suites, doubled our kitchen space, upgraded ADA-accessible and common spaces, introduced inspiring murals, and made essential behind-the-scenes improvements—emerging stronger and more welcoming than ever for families.

“Our family stayed at Portland East House twice this year and were blessed by “one less thing to worry about.” Our kids earned money and chose to give a portion of their earnings to you!”

More Than a Meal — A Commitment to Care

A warm meal means comfort and care. Through our Meals from the Heart program, families have access to free, nourishing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so they never have to worry about what comes next. More than food, these shared meals create moments of connection and respite, bringing families, volunteers, and our community together when it matters most.

Modernizing Our Brand in 2025

Earlier this year, Ronald McDonald House Oregon introduced a refreshed brand identity to better share our mission and engage the next generation of supporters. While staying true to our purpose—supporting families during medical crises—our updated brand more clearly reflects the impact of Family Stays and the care, resources, and community we provide every day.

Watch the video below to learn more about how we tell our mission story and why it matters.

Hospitality à la Carte

Our Hospitality à la Carte program brings comfort directly to hospital hallways. Through our signature carts stocked with snacks, essentials, and care items, we offer families small moments of relief at their child’s bedside—proof that even simple acts of hospitality can make a big difference.

Because of You

As a local 501(c)(3), we rely almost entirely on the generosity of our Oregon and SW Washington community. Every dollar raised stays here, helping families through their hardest moments. We are deeply grateful for your 2025 support—it reminds our guest families that they are never alone.

This snapshot of our 2025 impact only begins to tell the story of what is possible when community comes together for families in need. Behind every number is a family, a moment of comfort, and a reminder of why this mission matters so deeply. We are profoundly grateful to our donors, partners, volunteers, and staff who make this work possible every day. Together, we remain steadfast in our commitment to caring for families with a community of support. Because when a child is in the hospital, Family Stays. And we stay with them.
